Ladies Hiking Daypack Checklist |

Keep it light. Keep it light; keep it simple. That’s my theory when stuffing any pack I’m carrying on my back. Daypacks, especially, because I’m usually carrying these along on half-day or all-day hikes. The daypack is on my back the entire time I’m hiking, so I carry only what I really need.
I’ve compiled a checklist of my daypack must-haves, things I never leave home without. Not when I’m hiking anyway! I often have more with me, but never less.

Water Bottles - Liquid Gold |

Water's essential to a good hike, whether it's a stroll on a wooded path or a 5-mile stretch of narrow trail. You just can't hike without water. It's that serious. That critical to survival, just in case you should happen to go into survival mode such as when you're out, walking along, and it slowly dawns on you that you cannot remember where the parking lot is. Good to have water if you're spending the night in the woods. But what's NOT serious? The bottle you choose to carry your precious liquid in. Okay, maybe it's a little serious in that it: - Shouldn't leak,
- Shouldn't be too heavy,
- Shouldn't leach nasty chemicals into your water.
But can it match your outfit? Sure, why not. A current fave on the trail: those lightweight Swiss imports: SIGG bottles.
